I love these two phrases. I believe it can change our perspectives and become a more compassionate person.
Those are :
1, Sorry
2, Thank you.
Sorry
Sometimes it’s not that easy to pronounce this simple phrase. It hurts our ego and pride because someway it admits that we may be wrong. When we are apologizing, it shows our maturity and the openness to acknowledge the mistakes. We all are imperfect. So we do make mistakes. ‘Sorry’ doesn’t change the past, but it is meant to be the hope for the better future. When we apologise, we value the relationship rather than the individual’s ego. Saying “sorry” is not a weakness. Instead, it’s a strong quality of a powerful personality.
Thank you
“I don’t trust anyone who’s nice to me but rude to the waiter. Because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position.”
You might be thinking why I quoted Muhammad Ali here. We have seen many people saying sorry based on some situations or with selective people based on their criteria. I would say, we should be thankful to anyone who is helping us, regardless of caste, status, rich, relationship, gender etc. When we say thank you, it shows respect to the person who helped us and conveys our gratitude. Even when our kids are getting a glass of water, say “thank you”. Start practising these golden words. It should be part of our everyday etiquette. It hardly takes a moment to say that. But it can mean so much and bind people together.
However busy we are, it’s always right to thank people, however, small the thing they have done for us and don’t hesitate to say sorry next time however small a mistake we have made.
